Psalm Saturday

Time to join my friend Collette again over at Jesus Loves Mums for Psalm Saturday.
Join us this week as we share how something in the Psalms spoke to us.....

"Let all that I am wait quietly before God, for my hope is in Him. He alone is my rock and my salvation, my fortress where I will not be shaken. My victory and honor come from God alone. He is my refuge, a rock where no enemy can reach me. O my people, trust in Him at all times. Pour out your heart to Him, for God is our refuge."
Psalms 62:5, NLT

I find myself truly needing to not only commit this passage to memory, but to chant it everyday..many times a day. A mantra of sorts, yes, but the truth is that I tend to let satan feed me lie after lie. I tend to fall into those poor me pity parties that show a lack of faith in a powerful God.

I find myself running around trying to "fix" every little problem that comes along; my own problems, DH's, DD's, DS's, my best girlfriends..the list can go on and on and often does.

I find I don't like the quiet. When it is totally quiet, my problems and the problems of those I love scream at me. When it's totally quiet, I find myself making mountains out of molehills.

If only...if only I would live this incredible nugget of wisdom from God's Holy Word.

To wait quietly before the One that loves me...just because.

To fully believe that my hope, my honor, my victory comes from God alone.

To know that I have a Refuge where no enemy can reach me. Gossip cannot reach me. Financial trouble cannot reach me. Lies cannot reach me. Doubt cannot reach me.

I only have to do 3 things; 1) Pour out my heart to Him 2) Trust in Him at all times 3) Wait quietly before Him.

"Yes Father. This I will do. This I will learn. This I will believe for You and You alone are my fortress where I will not be shaken because I have victory in You and You alone."
