Family Favorites

Have I mentioned lately how much I love fall?? I love the cool, crisp air, the beauty in the color of the falling leaves. I love the smells coming from the kitchen and curling up under a blanket with a good book and some hot apple cider.

This week's Family Favorite is a recipe from a cookbook that was put together by the women of a church we went to many years ago. It's simple and delicious and definitely puts that yummy smell throughout the house!!

Give it a try and let me know what you think!!!

Southern Sweet Potato Pie

3 Tablespoons all-purpose flour
1 2/3 cups sugar
1 cup mashed sweet potatoes
2 eggs
¼ cup light corn syrup
¼ teaspoon ground nutmeg
Pinch of salt
½ cup butter or margarine
3/4 cup evaporated milk
1 unbaked pastry shell (9 inches, deep dish)

In a large mixing bowl, combine the flour and sugar. Add potatoes, eggs, corn syrup, nutmeg, salt, butter and evaporated milk; beat well. Pour into pastry shell. Bake at 350ยบ for 55-60 minutes.
